Eightelmphoto — Est. 2014

Visual stories captured in light, motion, and stillness.

A dark cinematic editorial practice shaping imagery that lingers, provokes, and quietly transforms the way we see.

About

The founder's frame

Eightelmphoto began in a dim Brooklyn loft, where founder Eli Marsh obsessively chased the half-second between shadow and revelation. A decade later, the studio has grown into a collective of image-makers, but that restless instinct still drives every frame we create.

A self-taught cinematographer turned photographer, Eli built Eightelmphoto on the belief that stillness is never static — it carries breath, history, and the weight of a moment about to break. That conviction shapes everything we shoot.

Our Values

Cinematic Intent

Every image is composed like a film frame — deliberate, atmospheric, and emotionally charged from the first pixel to the last.

Human Stillness

We chase quiet human moments that reveal more than spectacle: a glance, a pause, a breath held before something shifts.

Crafted Permanence

Each photograph is finished with archival care, printed on museum-grade surfaces meant to outlive trends and feed memory.

Light is not what we capture. It is the language we use to translate feeling into image — frame by deliberate frame.

About

A philosophy in three exposures

Light writes the scene. We study how it falls across skin, glass, and stone, then position subjects inside its grammar — never fighting it, never forcing it. The frame then follows motion, because even stillness remembers what moved before it. Finally, the photograph is allowed to exhale, becoming a quiet object that carries tension long after the shutter closes.

We do not chase trends. We chase resonance — the feeling a viewer gets hours later, when an image refuses to leave the room.
